As a result, you’ll learn new things and make new friends. After all, you already have one thing in common. Plus, you’ll potentially learn even more things through conversations with different people, broadening your understanding of other perspectives and cultures.

In addition, getting involved with other people and sharing a common purpose will help develop a sense of community. If you struggle to make friends but have plenty of interests you’d like to develop, joining a class or group is a great way to enjoy a sense of belonging. Your inner circle will inevitably grow, and so will your confidence.

You’ll Feel Good About Yourself

When you develop new skills or finally understand new and complex concepts, you’ll feel a tremendous sense of achievement. Set yourself regular goals and strive to achieve them. Once you do, you’ll feel proud of yourself for your new accomplishment. These goals can be as small as googling a question you’ve always wanted to answer or as big as getting a college degree or qualification.
