Study abroad can open the door to academic growth, language development, and cultural immersion \u2014 but at its best, it can also help students bring their own talents into real-world community engagement. That is exactly what happened for Camille during her time in Buenos Aires, Argentina<\/strong> through IPSL Global Engagement in Argentina: Spanish Language, Culture, and Volunteering<\/strong><\/a>. On StudyAbroad101, the program is described as a flexible experience based in Buenos Aires that can include Spanish classes, academic courses, ethical community-based research, and volunteering with grassroots organizations<\/strong>. \u201cThe IPSL global engagement program ensured my time in Buenos Aires was filled with curiosity and growth and allowed me to continue my artistic and creative practices in a new environment. I developed and implemented Healing Harmonies, a project combining live performance and interactive musical games designed to foster calm, connection, and emotional relief for children and families navigating illness. This work was carried out in collaboration with the NGOs ‘El Otro Me Importa’ and ‘Cont\u00e1 Con Ache’, and took place at the Hospital Italiano and the Ronald McDonald House, where music became a tool for resilience during moments of uncertainty.
I was able to build upon my teaching experience and contribute to the city\u2019s educational landscape by leading masterclasses at the Ginastera Conservatory and working with The Saavedra and M\u00e9xico Children’s Orchestras of Buenos Aires, sharing creative approaches to musical expression and offering a new perspective on American Folk music.<\/p>\n

Both of these experiences were only made possible by intensive Spanish language studies at Exspanish. I was pushed and encouraged to reach a B2 level, gaining the ability to communicate and collaborate with greater depth and ease. This program and opportunity profoundly expanded both my artistic practice and my capacity for cross-cultural connection, and I will hold Argentina dearly in my heart for the years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
